In the past, insurance companies would just brand a few big shows like Shark Tank to help their clients sell their products or services and then tack on marketing into the end to sell more insurance. However, over time, companies started using new media to provide solutions to the pain point that they saw online. As companies realize video provides insight and context along with entertainment value, they look to create videos around anything they can.

    Video is a great way to connect with people in a more personal way. With YouTube videos, you can share more of yourself and your personality in a way that’s not possible with a blog post. It seems that we will continue to operate under this trend for a while. Content marketing and video marketing are constantly moving into different spheres. As people become more digitally savvy, they are changing their behavior: not only is online shopping ever-increasing, but 73% of consumers would prefer to buy from companies they know rather shop from a stranger. Additionally, millions of millennials and Gen Z-ers are eschewing traditional marketing and advertising and adopting a programmatic approach to shopping. This means that an online retailer can no longer focus on getting consumers to purchase their products and then only try to sell them; they now need to focus on marketing and crafting messages that are tailored to their needs and visiting a retailer’s social media pages isn’t the only way to reach out to their audience.

    Almost 3 billion video views were recorded in December of 2020 alone, which shows that there is an enormous demand for video content.
